I was staring out my window earlier today, and I realized what a beautiful day it was. The sun was shining, and the trees were dancing to a soft breeze. Sadly, I was being held prisoner to excessive amounts of work and, consequently, confined indoors. All I could do was gaze out the window of my cell wishing I were free to enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.

It would have been a treat to wander through the Duke Gardens today as I’m sure they were absolutely stunning. In fact, I would love to have just meandered about Duke campus while enjoying the superlative, albeit chilly, weather. Alack alas, it was not to be. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll be blessed with some free time and even more great weather over the weekend; if so, I’ll make make certain to “carpe diem” and enjoy all that mother nature has to offer. However, until that time, I’ll be doing quite a lot of window watching from my stone prison here in the gothic wonderland.
