Over the past weekend, I saw the latest Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, and I must admit that I enjoyed it. In fact, I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would. In the past, I had been prodded by my friend Tanya (who I saw the latest movie with) to see the movies, but I saw them begrudgingly. However, for some strange reason or another, I wanted to see the latest one just to see it. Maybe I’ve been bitten by the Harry Potter bug, but I’ve suddenly stated to develop a liking for the Harry Potter series. In fact, I just recently saw the third Harry Potter movie in anticipation of the fourth movie in the series.

What’s so odd about this newfound enjoyment of the series is that after reading the first Harry Potter book I had no desire to continue on in the series. I thought it was okay but certainly nothing warranting all the fanfare the book was receiving. I’m not sure that my new fancy for the Harry Potter series will actually inspire me to read any of the books (probably not), but it does give me something to look forward to in the future.
Now, with regard to the latest movie, the beginning of the movie was rather confusing for someone who hasn’t read the books, and I had to constantly question Tanya about what was going on. I’m not sure if everything would have become clear to me if I hadn’t gotten those questions resolved by her, but thankfully, she was there to straighten out any questions I had. One other point of discontent was the depiction of Voltemort who looked more like a snake than a human being. Maybe this is what the book depicted him to be like, but I just didn’t like it. Afterall, his father is supposed to be human. Aside from that, the movie was wonderful. The special effects were terrific, and the plot was very intriguing. If you’ve been hesitant about seeing this movie, go out and see it. You won’t be disappointed.

That is right! Harry Potter rocks and you should now read the series so I can drag you to the next three movies and have crazy Harry Potter marathons before each one! Mildly obssessed? Maybe…
